8th graders have been watching and learning about ways food nourishes us besides the 6 nutrients and fiber... here they are analyzing food ads and also having FUN and bonding while cooking some cupcakes. They also wrote papers about our lives and incorporated important recipes. The papers were amazing!!!!
Here they are in action:
O'Leary FACS
Mrs. Hubbard is no longer teaching at OMS. However, this site is still up as a resource to students and other teachers.
Welcome!
This blog is coming to you live from the O'Leary Cubs Family and Consumer Sciences classroom. It will give parents and students an idea of what is going on in FACS class, post links to cool information, and be a place to comment and ask questions.
This blog will also give out information about Mrs. Hubbard's 7th Grade Prime Time. Look for Prime Time just below and to the left to see what is going on there.

8th graders get to use cells in class!
Below we used www.polleverywhere.com and students texted answers to the question:
What is a safety issue or rule in the kitchen.
The answers popped up on the board as they came in.
Those without cell phones, used Mrs. Hubbard's phone or a friends. It was really cool!

8th grade Sewers
Sadly, I did not get many pictures of my 8th graders sewing. :( But I do have a few. They produced AMAZING projects this year. Thank you 8th grade for being so super!
Using Our New Technology
Our projector which was provided by funds from the Twin Falls School District Education Foundation through money donated by Seagraves Family Foundation has really changed the way I can teach students. I have a camera hooked up to it and can show small details on instructions, pattern pieces, and machine equipment and tools.
It is GREAT!!!!!
Thank you TFSDEF and Seagraves Family Foundation for making this technology possible!!!!!!
